So we’ve all known for a while, that ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ director Zoya Akhtar is already planning her next film based on Mumbai street rappers, for which she has signed ‘Bajirao Mastani’ star Ranveer Singh and ‘Student of the Year’ starlet Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.

Back in April of this year, Akhtar met with Bollywood’s boy wonder Ranbir Kapoor whom she was also keen to sign on to the project. But Kapoor turned down the film, reportedly because he was not too thrilled with the idea of playing second fiddle to Ranveer.

Well now it appears history seems to be repeating itself.

According to the latest reports, an insider revealed to PinkVilla that “Zoya gave a script narration to Hrithik, and he loved the story. Yet, he surprisingly turned it down. In fact, another filmmaker who had approached the actor with a story is waiting to give him a narration. Hrithik has liked that story too, but hasn’t given time to the filmmaker for a narration. He has wrapped up Mohenjo Daro and the only film he is shooting for right now is Kaabil. Looks like the actor is totally immersed in his home production and will look at other projects only after he completes it.”
