Since their first appearance together in ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, Bollywood’s reply to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s private life has been making waves across Indian tabloids.
In the upcoming September 1st premier of ‘Finding Fanny’, the superstar duo is portrayed as a married couple. Ranveer plays a short, 2-minute role as Deepika’s dead husband ‘Gabo’; Deepika portrays a girl from Goa called ‘Angie’ and the film also casts veteran Bollywood legend Naseeruddin Shah. Even though his part in the show was miniscule, he was more than happy to play the position, spending time with his on (and alleged off) screen girlfriend.
The ‘Finding Fanny’ team recently released a short video on the making of Deepika’s on-screen wedding to Ranveer. The A-Lister says little is known about the character Gabo’s role in the film and for more details you should ‘speak to the director’ Homi Adajania, who makes his debut as both writer and director of this English/Hindi satire.
In the short clip, Ranveer is shown dancing around exhibiting his boisterous persona and wild escapades. Deepika states “He prepared for it like he would a full on film”. The skit depicts a church wedding in which ‘Gabo’ is seen sharing cake with his newlywed bride, Angie, who looks stunning in her flowing white gown.
Of late there have been rumors of the alleged couple’s plan to tie the knot sometime next year. But Ranveer dismissed this news as false and baseless telling the Hindustan Times, “I don’t even think about it (marriage), as of now. I am only thinking about which movies should I do that will make a mark, and what parts I should play that will become memorable. I am really enjoying the process. I am exploring my creativity and myself, as an artiste, by trying new things. I am caught up in it and things are moving fast for me. So I don’t have the time or headspace to think about such things.”
