It appears motoring sites can’t seem to get enough of superstar DJ Deadmau5… Well, if we’re being honest neither can we… A few days ago, Nissan stepped up and offered the Canadian EDM sensation a chance to play around with their Nissan GT-R, maybe in the hopes of getting him to affiliate with the brand.
While Deadmau5 was reportedly excited to receive the car dubbed ‘the Porsche killer’, it didn’t quite seem to leave a lasting impression as motoring blogs reveal ‘the mau5’ has gone out and purchased himself a McLaren 650S. After his recent legal tribulations with Ferrari, it looks as though Deadmau5 has (out of spite) purchased a vehicle that was developed as a direct competitor to the Ferrari 458 Italia – his former everyday car.
Unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show this year to replace the McLaren MP4-12C, the 650S features a reworked 3.8 liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing a staggering 641hp. Integrating technology from McLaren’s P1, the 650S offers better driving dynamics and more down force as compared to the MP4-12C. With more power, the 650S is capable of launching from 0-100km/h in 3 seconds flat, and boasts a top speed of 333 km/h.
Online reports suggest Deadmau5 is currently playing ‘taxi’ around the streets of Toronto. Using the ride-sharing app Uber, the ‘Moar Ghosts N Stuff’ star is shuttling around in his brand new ‘Meowclaren’ offering a handful of lucky commuters the ride of their life!
