US President Barack Obama seems to be endorsing a new product… Contraband Viagra! According to recent findings the world’s most powerful man has unknowingly become the face of the little blue pill, specifically in the northern areas of Pakistan.
Despite the United States’ questionable reputation in the deeply conservative country, America’s first-ever black President is seen as a symbol of great strength, and has thus become the unofficial ambassador of counterfeit Viagra. The gloss packaging features America’s 44th President in the avatar of Britain’s most beloved and well-known secret agent – James Bond, holding his signature Walther PPK.
According to a French news agency ‘Obama Viagra’ is most popular in Peshawar, the notoriously hard line capital of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Priced at $1 for four tablets the miracle pill for erectile dysfunction is a hot-selling item, despite being officially banned throughout the country. These pills are smuggled in through Afghanistan; some of which are placebos, while others are made of completely unknown and untested chemicals often with dreadful side-effects.
Ironically, Obama Viagra has become most-popular amongst the youth in the country.
Several conclusions have been drawn as to why that may be the case with many in Pakistan blaming the socio-economic state of the country. Terrorism and high unemployment are also major factors contributing to the spread of frustration and depression.
With so many things out of their hands, it appears Obama Viagra seems to provide the youth in this country with some sense of control…
