The 24th Bond film crowned ‘Spectre’ is set to hit the big screen later this year. James Bond films are famous for featuring Aston Martins as the “company supplied car” aka the ultimate spy car. But just like the last Bond films there is always another car that features alongside the Aston Martin in a jaw-dropping chase sequence that we all love. Smoke screens, guns, rockets, automatic inflatable tires and all until by the end of it, we sitting on the edge of our seats rooting for the iconic Aston Martin fitted with the biggest arsenal ever!
Though this time, things could be a little different… The company supplied car in the new film is none other than the brand new Aston Martin DB10, which is no doubt a vehicle that would make you drool all over like a dog drooling for his favorite treat. This time, the new film is set to feature another car that might make us all contemplate about which side we’re actually on… Bond or the villain.
The Jaguar CX-75 is set to debut in the new ‘Spectre’ as the villain’s vehicle and we read reports saying the film includes a spectacular car chase across Rome in a face-off against the indomitable DB10. Not many people know about the Jag CX-75. The prototype was released at the Paris Motor Show in 2010. The CX-75 was set to produce 778 bhp through four electric motors, each motor allocated to a single wheel. In 2011, Jaguar announced the production of the new beast with a selling price of roughly $1.15 million to $1.48 million (depending on the market). Sadly, due to the exorbitant price, Jag pulled the plug on the project because well, not many are willing to drop that much bank on an electric car… even if it is a Jaguar. Yet fortunately for us, Spectre’s new super-villain is!
The CX-75 and the DB10 won’t be the only cars featured in the new Bond sequel with reports that the new Range Rover SVR and a modified version of a Land Rover Defender dubbed “The Big Foot” will also feature.
We still don’t have all the information about the plot of the film, but we do know that we will be seeing Daniel Craig return as James Bond, and the ever-beautiful Monica Bellucci will feature as the Bond Girl (let’s just hope she doesn’t die like the rest of them). Apart from the two main characters, Christoph Waltz our favourite actor from the film ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Inglorious Bastards’ is also set to star in the hotly-anticipated superspy thriller.
So far we know that the movie is set to hit the big screen on the 6th of November, 2015 with what appears to be a brilliant cast, beastly rides and all-new gadgets.
Mark your calendars people; the sequel is coming!
