India’s favorite superhero Krrish is all-set to return to the big screen later this year with ‘Krrish 3’. It is said this time around veteran director Rakesh Roshan sought inspiration from Sam Raimi’s superhero blockbuster ‘Spider-Man 3’.
The sci-fi thriller is to be India’s first 3D film, almost guaranteeing it blockbuster status when it releases at the Box Office this Diwali. The trailer for the third installment was released early last month. It is high on special effects, graphics and choreographed stunts. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 4, 2013.
Hrithik, India’s favorite heartthrob, will light up the screen alongside former Ms. World Priyanka Chopra and the one and only Rekha. Supporting the three industry bigwigs is Bollywood newcomer Kagna Ranaut.
Casting for the villain was not easy, and social media sites were abuzz with rumors of who would land the highly-coveted role. Director and Producer Rakesh Roshan had mentioned that the main antagonist of the film would be as powerful as the hero. After talks with ‘Bol Bachchans’ Ajay Devgn and Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan fell through, Vivek Oberoi was officially signed-on.
Leading exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi was quoted in an interview with Bollywood Dhamaal as saying “they say Karan Johar’s films appeal to audiences from Bhatinda to Boston. Rakeshji’s Krrish 3 will have appeal from Malegaon to Mars! With a superb story, stunning action and Hrithik Roshan playing the protagonist, there’s nothing that can stop this film from becoming one of the biggest grosser in the history of Hindi cinema!”
With Hrithik’s superstar status and his father’s brilliant commercial sensibilities, we’re sure ‘Krrish 3’ will do just that!
