Shahid Afridi has actually scored 12 runs off one delivery. Don’t believe us? You should watch the above video which shows our very own Boom Boom smash a ball to the roof of the indoor Etihad cricket stadium that was then known as Telstra Dome. According to Cricruns.com, it was a game of Power Cricket in 2002. Just watching the thunderous strike took our breath away.

The rules of Power Cricket indicate that if a batsman hits a shot that touches the roof of the stadium, he and his team are awarded 12 runs. Afridi is known for many memorable moments like once holding the record for fastest 50 and fastest 100 in the early part of his career. He is well known to hit huge sixes and stunning the audiences with his shots.

Due to his powerful hitting skills, he has been nicknamed ‘Boom Boom’ by his fans.  Afridi will have to put on a batting masterclass at this year’s World Cup down under like his former captain and teammate Inzamam-ul-Haq did back in the 1992 Benson and Hedges World Cup that also took place in Australia and New Zealand.
