This time round, Bollywood’s latest love story takes inspiration from perhaps the greatest love story of all time – William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. ‘Devdas’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali produces and directs ‘Ram Leela’, a film that has already been dubbed ‘a cinematic masterpiece’ in spite of the fact that it doesn’t release for another month.

The film stars Band Baja Baraat’s Ranvir Singh opposite ‘Cocktail’ hottie Deepika Padukone. 2013 seems to be Deepika’s year, with her two films ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ both smashing the Box Office.

Bhansali had first signed newly-wed Kareena Kapoor to star in the film, but due to monetary issues and scheduling problems she reportedly backed out. Bhansali then approached Will.i.am protégé Priyanka Chopra, but again faced scheduling issues before finally signing her contemporary Deepika Padukone.

Rumor also has it former Miss World and Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will perform an item number in the upcoming film. After staying out of the spotlight for years now, the Times of India reported she is considering this to be her big comeback. We look forward to seeing if the new mom can still shake it like she did in ‘Nimbooda Nimbooda’, ‘Dola Re Dola’ and ‘Kajra Re.’

The highly-anticipated film was shot in Mumbai and Udaipur and is expected to hit theatres by mid November. With yet-another real life couple starring in the lead roles, we cannot wait to see the on-screen chemistry between Bollywood’s new ‘it-couple’ Deepika and Ranvir.
