Well, it certainly looks like it’s been a very good week for Uber.

First, the Silicon Valley behemoth secured a whopping $3.5 billion investment from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund — one of the largest-ever investments in a privately held start-up. Then, to follow it up, the online transportation network company introduced a new exclusive service in Amsterdam – the UberBIKE.

In an effort to expand the Uber empire into new markets (in this case the two-wheel market) the Uber BIKE service allows for users to hail a car with a bike-rack pre-installed for a mere €4 EUR surcharge. Why Amsterdam? Well the logic’s actually quite simple — there are nearly a million bicycles in the Dutch capital and 63% of the population uses bikes on a daily basis. Unfortunately not all bikers have the energy to pedal home at the end of a long day – This is where Uber BIKE steps in.
