The PlayStation 4 will be a year old in little over a month and boy, are there some excellent titles to look out for. Though not all the titles are exclusive to Sony, the games listed below will make for fantastic additions to the growing PS4 library. The top five games we’re looking forward to include:

1. Assassins Creed Unity (November 2014)

Ubisoft’s ‘Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag’ stepped onto the PlayStation 4 as a launch title with huge acclaim. Following its blockbuster success, Ubisoft is keeping ‘Assassins Creed: Unity’ exclusive to current gen consoles. A new assassin Arno Dorian is introduced and the game is set during the French Revolution. One of the new features is the introduction of the ‘Phantom Blade’. New parkour moves have been introduced and can be bought in-game. Cooperative multiplayer will also be introduced for the first time.

2. WWE 2K15 (November 2014)

Love or hate pro-wrestling, the games have always made for great fun. Royal Rumble on ‘WWF Smackdown’ with four players always brings back amazing memories of the original PlayStation. Now the franchise takes its first step on the PS4 under new publisher 2K Sports, who also helmed last year’s ‘WWE 2K 14’. ‘WWE 2K 15’ brings Historic Rivalries as part of the new 2K Showcase mode and ‘MyCareer’ mode, as well as boasting more realistic graphics and an improved gameplay. New roster additions include the much-awaited WCW alum Sting, and the return of the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Let’s get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmble..!

3. Mortal Kombat X (April 2015)

‘Finish Him’ is a phrase heard and loved by fans of the classic ‘beat em up’ series Mortal Kombat. But be careful what you wish for as Ed Boon and NetherRealm studios bring back Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden and the lot along with a few fresh faces like Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage’s daughter Cassie. Expected to feature more gore, more blood and even more incredible fatalities ‘Mortal Kombat X’ should be a return to form. Environment-based attacks from ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ are also expected to be included. Bone-crunching x-ray attacks and a user-friendly control system will pull in a new generation of gamers. We can’t wait for ‘MK X’ to ‘Get Over Here!

4. Metal Gear Solid 5 (2015)

Snake aka Big Boss returns to battle once again in the hotly-anticipated follow-up to ‘MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots’. The game has been released by longtime creator Hideo Kojima in two parts. The first part ‘Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes’ served as a prologue to the meaty ‘The Phantom Pain’ being developed once again with the patented ‘Fox Engine’. Snake goes to Afghanistan during the Soviet war to avenge the destruction of his forces. This time Kojima has placed our hero in an open-world as opposed to the linear gameplay seen in previous titles.

5. Tekken 7 (expected late 2015)

Listed at number 5 but for us this is by far the most hotly-anticipated title releasing on the PS4. The series that got its birth on the original PlayStation back in the 90s, will now make its debut on the PS4. Bandai Namco will focus on Heihachi Mishima and the family feud but those are just details. Tekken is all about pulling off some awesome combos and wreaking havoc on your opponents. Unreal Engine 4 is being used as the engine that will power this hotly-anticipated beat em up title. A new female character, Catalina, will also reportedly be introduced in addition to an Arab character for the first time ever.

God what a great time to own a PS4, eh?
