There have been hundreds and thousands of new Tech start-ups in the last three or four years. The primary means of making money and starting a new business have shifted a lot from interactions for recognition to making your company go viral on the internet. The tech industry is booming and unprecedented amount of cash is being flooded into the start-up market.

According to the Wall Street Journal’s (WSJ), “The Billion-Dollar Startup Club” and their statistics we have compiled a list of the top 9 tech startups that are worth more than $10 billion, and the top three will be surprise you.

1. Xiaomi: One of the biggest smartphone brand names in China and is considered among the best Android smartphones in the market. CEO, Jun Lei who founded the company in 2010 now controls a company worth $46 billion.

2. Uber: A simple app for y our phone that you can use to call a cab… that’s all it does. Founded by Travis Kalanik, Uber is now worth a total of $41.2 billion…

3. Snapchat: We all know what it is, what it does and how it works. Snapchat founded by Evan Spiegel in 2012 is now worth somewhere around $16 to $19 billion reportedly still seeking a position for the valuation.

4. Palantir: Probably one of the biggest software and Service Company that provides data analysis for government sectors like the CIA and the FBI. No sh*t it made the list; founded by Alexander Karp in 2004, Palantir is worth $15 billion.

5. SpaceX: One of the coolest companies on the list, SpaceX manufactures and sends vehicles for space exploration and design technologies aiding in mission. Founded by the famous Elon Musk, SpaceX is worth $12 billion.

6. FlipKart: A simple but clever e-commerce site that specializes in electronics  and products like books and music. FlipKart came to being in 2007 and is now worth $11 billion, with Sachin Bansal as the acting CEO.

7. Pinterest: A sorts of social media site that lets you share or save images online by “pinning” content to your account. Last year Pinterest was reportedly worth $5 billion. In the latest reports, CEO, Ben Silbermann’s company founded in 2008 is worth around $11 billion (seeking).

8. Airbnb: Airbnb is a platform where you can rent out your homes and apartments to temporary residents. It is currently activated in 190 countries. Founded by Brian Chesky in 2008, Airbnb is worth $10 billion.

9. Dropbox: with over 200 million users worldwide, Drew Houston’s brilliant app that lets you store data online is worth $10 billion.
