In honor of Carrera’s golden jubilee, luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer has released a number of new Carrera models. The most impressive of which has to be the 1887 Titanium Racing Chronograph with its matte black sandblasted titanium casing.

Unlike the Grand Carrera, this one has a ceramic rim and a tachymetre scale. Moreover, scratch-resistant curved double anti-reflective sapphire crystals line its 43mm diameter and its hands have luminescent markers.

The numerals, written in black gold, read 0 to 60 instead of 1 to 12, which gives the watch a unique and sporty look. The date window at 3 o’clock too is written in the same style, neighbouring the logo rather than the day window as it did in previous Carreras such as Calibre 16.

It has a simple yet elegant black folding clasp and high-tech ‘soft-touch’ black alligator strap with safety push buttons, and a red stitching and lining that gives it more “oomph.”

Impressively, the watch consists of 320 components, 39 of which are jewels. In addition, it features a 50-hour power reserve and is water-resistant for up to 100 meters.
