Khaadi, a household name and one of Pakistan’s most-loved brands will now tread international waters to explore new horizons and avenues far beyond conventional norms. Opening on a colossal scale at Westfield shopping malls in Stratford and London, Khaadi’s aim is not just to cater to Asian’s settled in the UK but also to the locals who bear an intense fascination with our Boski shalwar kameez’s and hand-woven fabrics.
Even though an exact date has yet to be announced, Khaadi is expected to open in London around the 13th of December; which is just as well considering it’ll be perfectly timed with the Christmas shopping season.
Khaadi CEO Rehan Syed seems to be acutely aware of the fact that opening a retail outlet in London, a world hub for shopping is no small ask; however, the Asian community settled in London seemed to be the primary motivating factor behind the brand’s decision to go global. The more ethnic stuff will be targeted specifically to Pakistanis but the fusion line will be created especially for the international market. Operating with this strategy in-mind, Khaadi chose to forgo heavily desi-populated area like Green Street and Bradford and went directly to the large malls targeting the core.
What’s more is that according to the latest reports, a Khaadi retail store is also due to open in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia though details of that venture too seem to be very hush-hush at the moment.
So there you have it. What initially began as a local brand catering to a niche clientele in Pakistan is now preparing to make its mark in the international market… Hat’s off Khaadi!
