Remember Miami Vice? Not the 2006 film starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell, but the classic 1980s hit television series? For five seasons, Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas saved Miami from underworld mobsters, drug barons and ruthless criminals — and they did it with style! Johnson, as Detective James ‘Sonny’ Crockett, cruised the streets of Miami in his gleaming white 1986 Ferrari Testarossa. Well fans of the series are in luck as the very same car is listed up for auction on eBay!

Crockett did not originally drive the Testarossa. He was previously seen driving around in a 1972 Ferrari Daytona Spyder which was a mock-up built on a Corvette chassis. Ferrari was not too happy and eventually offered the show two white Testarossa’s for use on the show after an initial lawsuit. On the show, the Daytona was seen blown up in the Season 2 episode ‘When Irish Eyes Are Crying’.

Not a bad deal considering how impressive the Testarossa is as a machine. According to Digital Trends, this piece of 1980’s awesomeness will set you back a cool $1,750,000. All you would need is a pastel suit and a pair of Ray Bans to complete the Sonny Crockett-look.

The prancing horse surprisingly only has 16,000 miles on it and is in fantastic condition. The Testarossa is fitted with a 4.9-liter 12-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 390 horsepower. According to Digital Trends, “Power was sent to the rear via a five-speed manual transmission. The sports car’s now-iconic design was born out of Ferrari mounting twin radiators to the side, focusing on crafting an efficient aerodynamic vehicle that produced downforce without the need for large wings.”

The best part is that this was not the car used for stunt scenes, only for glamour shots with Crockett and Tubbs posing behind their stunning ride. ‘Miami Vice’ was a show that defined a decade of excess and rock music, and no car can serve as a better reminder of the 80s than the Testarossa.
