Perhaps inspired by the submarine Lotus in the James Bond classic ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, MTI introduces the ZR48 – the very first Corvette ZR1 for the open seas.

Designed and developed by renowned powerboat manufacturer Pier 57, the MTI ZR48 is today among the fastest speedboats in the world! Powered by a pair of massive Mercury Marine 48 engines with a combined output of 2700hp, the MTI ZR48 boasts a top speed of 180 mph.

But there’s more to it than just speed… According to The Carbon Fiber Journal, what sets the MTI ZR48 apart from other powerboats is that it was inspired by a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, the fastest and most powerful ‘vette’ ever manufactured. A custom shifter throttles both engines and the one-of-a-kind interior features a ZR1 steering wheel, six air-conditioned seats, and custom badges.

While Pier 57 made sure cruising at high speeds is a walk in the park, they also did their bit to ensure passengers remain entertained with an 8000 watt RMS state-of-the-art sound system, LED lighting, Apple TV and on-board Wi-Fi.

To give the powerboat a more streamlined look, Pier 57 used Chevrolet parts in keeping with the Corvette theme, featured on both the interior and exterior including: ZR1-inspired hull sides, headlights, emblems and engine vents.

Priced at an eye-watering $1.7 million, the powerboat (and trailer) comes complete with an on-board generator, water tank, power washer, an engine flush system and five LED TV’s.
