“Dear Customer,

The all new Honda HR-V 2016 is launched with 1.5L Petrol engine, 2 Years Warranty & After sales back up. Visit your nearest 3S Honda dealership & book your HR-V today.”

This was the mass SMS received by thousands of mobile subscribers today, as Honda Atlas launched its latest offering: the 2016 Honda HR-V.

Now, we know what you must be thinking looking at the photo above — “Hey, isn’t this the Honda Vezel i’ve been seeing on the streets for the last year?” And the answer is, yes. Now you may be wondering, is it going to be cheaper? And the answer is, no…

Confused? We were too. But it appears as though Honda in Pakistan is looking to broaden its portfolio by offering more choices and let’s be honest, they need to. Post the launch of Toyota’s newly-redesigned Corolla, Honda loyalists have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the new shape Honda City.

The newly-redesigned Honda City SV, as its called, launched in neighboring India back in 2014. But with no confirmation as to its redesign in Pakistan, Honda fans are getting impatient. The HR-V looks to be a spectacular car, no doubt. But with an identical Vezel readily available in the market for the last year, Honda has to do more to step up its game.
