Ettore Bugatti once dubbed the Bentley 4½ liter “the world’s fastest truck”… We should’ve known the Italian automobile legend was merely being prophetic. For the last three years Bentley has sold in excess of 10,000 vehicles-a-year, and with the Bentley Bentayga expected to hit the market in a few weeks, the company may just see that figure skyrocket. The first Bentley built for off-roading, the Bentayga kisses the ground with two suspension settings for high ground clearance, and an oiling system designed to keep the engine lubricated at a tilt of up to 35 degrees.
The luxury SUV’s interior is something that belongs in a museum. With seven different veneers, 15 colors of hide to trim the cabin, and seven seatbelt shades, the interior is more reminiscent of a luxury yacht than a 4×4 SUV. Not only does the instrument panel use physical gauges with real needles, but the gauges are protected behind a sheet of mineral glass. However, the most appealing feature of the Bentayga’s interior has to be the Breitling clock atop the dashboard. With your choice of a black, white or mother-of-pearl face, the optional upgrade comes studded with eight-friggin-diamonds.
