In an effort to reclaim some of its lost credibility after being stripped of its title as “The World’s Fastest Production Car” by Guinness World Records, the luxury road racer is back and this time, it’s not taking no for an answer.
Bugatti’s 2014 Veyron looks to take up the mantle of the fastest production car in the world, capable of achieving a top speed of 408.84 km/h. The new speedster is powered by Bugatti’s monstrous 8-liter engine producing a staggering 1200 horsepower.
To further enhance performance, there has been a dramatic decrease in its overall weight with engineers stripping nearly 200 kilos from the 1888 kg that made up the old Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. To achieve this weight reduction carbon fibre was used extensively in the newly-upgraded model.
The 2014 Bugatti Veyron boasts a 0-60mph time of just 2.4 seconds flat, concluding it is indeed the fastest production car in the world.
With production limited to just 100 units, this racing devil will set buyers back an eye-watering $2.25 million. There will also be a special edition model marketed as ‘the World Record Car’, of which only eight will be produced and sold at a sticker price of $2.6 million.
