Since the news was first confirmed that Ben Affleck would be taking over the cape and cowl from Christian Bale, rumors have been rife that not only would he star, but also direct the standalone ‘Batman’ reboot.

Well Warner Bros. head honcho Kevin Tsujihara took to CinemaCon this week to validate the news, confirming that the ‘rumor’ is in fact very much true.

Though details of the project remain largely under wraps the same rumor-mills suggest the new reboot will be titled ‘The Batman’ and will be based on a script by Chris Terrio — the same man who rewrote ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, after earning an Oscar for his work on Affleck’s ‘Argo’.

‘The Batman’ will be Affleck’s fifth directorial venture following: ‘The Town’, ‘Gone Baby Gone’, ‘Argo‘, and next year’s ‘Live By Night’.

Before that however, we see him don the Batsuit once more, in this year’s upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ set to hit screens on August 5th.
