Finally, it’s that time of the year again… FC Barcelona heads to the Santiago Bernabeu to face-off against arch rivals Real Madrid in the ‘El Clasico’. This is a showdown that gets most football fans tingling with anticipation for when the two sides collide, there’s bound to be some explosions!

Though most fans revel in the clash between the Worlds’ best footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, tonight’s focus will undoubtedly be on former Liverpool frontman Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan sensation, whose four month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini in the FIFA World Cup comes to an end today, will be making his long-awaited debut for Barcelona after his £75 million summer transfer.

Messi has already shown his excitement for Suarez’s debut, and was quoted in BBC Sport saying, “We are excited for Luis to play because he will add his strength to the team. I’m happy for him because he has spent a long time off the pitch”.

His nemesis Ronaldo was quick to dismiss notions that tonight’s match would be a showdown between two men saying, “I am not going to play against Messi, I am going to playing against Barcelona.”

The Real Madrid forward is just one goal away from Raul’s UEFA Champions League record, and will no doubt be looking to make his mark tonight. But with Suarez also marking his comeback, things may not go as planned…
