Netherlands Manager Louis Van Gaal has become the odds-on favorite to replace interim manager Ryan Giggs at Old Trafford next season. United’s previous manager David Moyes was recently sacked on the back of a dismal season that left Manchester United out of Champions League next season, and at a relatively disappointing seventh place in the Barclays Premier League.
United midfielder Ryan Giggs was handed over the reins and tasked with taking charge for the rest of the season. Media reports seem to confirm that Van Gaal is poised to come on-board next season and that his appointment will soon be confirmed.
Though, nothing official has yet been announced by either Manchester United or Louis Van Gaal, English media reports suggest that if the former Bayern Munich manager were to in fact be appointed, his appointment would reportedly come with a hefty condition – £200 million to rebuild the team.
Van Gaal is reportedly extremely keen to take a job in the Premier League but is known to build his teams from scratch. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a manager with a systematic approach, tactical versatility and the determination to steer them back into the top four.
Louis Van Gaal possesses all three. But whether or not the senior management at Manchester United share his vision, remains to be seen…
