Last night’s Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer attracted a host of top celebrities and Royal fans… Serbian Djokovic won his second title in a tense contest against seven-time Swiss champion Roger Federer scoring: 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 5-7 and 6-4.
According to E Online, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (more commonly known as Kate and Wills) were present at the hotly-contested final. The Royal couple was also in attendance when Brit Andy Murray lost to Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in a tantalizing quarterfinal match-up that saw the 23-year-old youth talent knock-out the local hero.
On the day of the final, the Duchess sported a short-sleeved blue, green and white dress designed by Jonathan Saunders. The $1500 outfit was a departure from her signature dress-coat look that she usually wears out at public appearances.
‘X-Men’ star Hugh Jackman also took in a day of tennis sporting a shaved head accompanied by a Sindhi-curl monch, alongside his wife Deborra-Lee Furness. The new guise is due to his appearance in the upcoming Peter Pan film titled ‘Pan’ releasing in 2015. Speaking of films, ‘The Hangover’ star Bradley Cooper who was attending his second straight Wimbledon final, showed his admiration for the world’s oldest tennis tournament sitting amongst the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, Samuel L. Jackson and his ‘Avengers’ co-star Chris Hemsworth.
According to the DailyMail, music legend Sir Cliff Richard and Oracle CEO and fifth-richest man in the World Larry Ellison, were also in attendance at the seminal event.
Current World number one Djokovic has become a force to be reckoned with in recent years and with his second Wimbledon championship in the bag, he could very well be the newest tennis sensation of his generation.
