Ever been left with that feeling of wanting more from your greasy burger and fries? Following the theme of our recent fast food posts, we introduce to you the world’s most expensive burger: ‘the Glamburger’. Priced at about $1,800 or £1,100 and verified by RecordSetter, the Glamburger is the product of collaboration between London restaurant Honky Tonk and Groupon to celebrate the latter’s sale of their five millionth food and drink voucher.

So what bang do you get for your buck? Chef Chris Large makes the Glamburger with a Kobe Wagyu beef patty (some of the most expensive beef in the world) and seasons it with Himalayan salt. To balance the fat content, the patty is also made with New Zealand venison and has a rich center of black truffle brie cheese “to create a liquid pocket once the meat has cooked”, according to Groupon’s website. It’s served with Canadian lobster, maple-syrup coated bacon, Beluga caviar (which sells for an insane $10,000-a-kilo), and a hickory smoked duck egg. All this is sandwiched between gold-leaf coated brioche buns that is laced with Japanese matcha (green tea) and cream mayonnaise, garnished with mango and champagne jus, and finally sprinkled with white truffle shavings. I think decadence has been given an entirely new definition.

At 2,168 calories, this is a burger that won’t only hit your wallet but your cholesterol too. As a publicity stunt, Groupon is offering the public a chance to enter and win a free tasting of the burger at Honky Tonk’s Chelsea location (with travel taken care of), so you may not have to dip into that savings account just yet. If you’re up for the challenge, head to Groupon’s website to enter the draw, and you might just win a dinner to remember…
