When ‘Furious 7’ raced on to the big screen, it made loads of box-office bucks and enthralled film lovers around the world. As we all finished watching the adrenaline-tinged action racing flick, we asked ourselves if there is more to look forward to.

So, how many future sequels should we expect? According to Cinema Blend, ‘Furious 7’ director James Wan seems to have hinted that the next one could very well be the last time we see Dominic Toretto and his comrades on screen again. While speaking to The Daily Beast, Wan was quoted saying, “I think it’s a great idea for Justin [Lin] to come back… Justin had such a big part to do with where this series has gone, it would be amazing if he closed it out.”

Shall we take this with a grain of salt or is this a sign of things to come? The idea of bringing Justin Lin back would be great, but we don’t know if it is only for one film. Universal has officially stated otherwise, “If people keep seeing them, we’ll keep making them.”

A massive opening weekend gross of $390 million worldwide and closing in on a billion dollars is a sure sign that fans want more of ‘The Fast and the Furious’. Wan and Lin have both done great work in their respective films, and either of them would be great to direct the next one.

Considering the mass appeal of the franchise, Universal would be hoping to cash in as much as possible from the blockbuster franchise. Hopefully, ‘Furious 8’ won’t be the last ride for Dominic Toretto.
