Considering ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ broke more than 30 records, including ‘Highest Opening Weekend Gross’ and ‘Fastest to $1 Billion’, it comes as no surprise the part of Han Solo for the prequel has become the most coveted lead role in Hollywood.

Following a younger Han Solo, the prequel will look at the character’s origin story, covering his transition from a smuggler and thief to an intergalactic icon. According to CNN, when the prequel was first announced social media speculation immediately centered on Chris Pratt, the ascendant star of ‘Jurassic World’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ for the lead role. But after thousands of auditions producers Disney and Lucasfilm have reportedly narrowed down the list to a handful of candidates which don’t include Pratt, but do include Scott Eastwood, Dave Franco and ‘Whiplash’ superstar Miles Teller.

The as-yet untitled film is slated to hit theaters May, 2018 and will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, the dynamic duo behind ‘The Lego Movie’.
