From Farhan Akhtar and Ajay Devgn, to Aamir Khan and Naseeruddin Shah, with so many Bollywood stars now trying their hand (and luck) at directing, why would Prince of Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor be left behind?

According to the latest reports, the ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ star is reportedly considering making his directorial debut with an eight-minute film on the three Dons of Hindi cinema: Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

Ranbir was quoted on PinkVilla saying, “I thought that if I want to make a short film on someone, whom should I make it on. And then I thought I will bring Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, Mr. Salman Khan and Mr. Aamir Khan on a sofa and will make an 8 minute long short film on them.”

The grandson of legendary Bollywood actor and director Raj Kapoor, Ranbir was asked if he had considered making his directorial debut with a film on his late grandfather. “I started thinking that a short film will be really short. If I start making it on him it will take me 500 hours,” he replied.

Of course, this won’t be the first RK foray into the world of directing. In 1999 Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor also tried his hand at directing with his directorial debut ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’. The film neither shined at the box office nor did it make critics go gaga, and since then RK Films hasn’t made another production… And neither has Mr. Rishi.

The Bollywood heartthrob is currently busy shooting for his two upcoming releases: ‘Jagga Jasoos’ which sees he team-up again with ‘Barfi’ director Anurag Basu and ‘Tamasha’ which sees him team-up again with ‘Rockstar’ director Imtiaz Ali.
