Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is still the richest man in entertainment thanks to re-runs of his hit TV sitcom ‘Seinfeld’. Though the popular sitcom ended more than 15 years ago, fans continue to get a kick out of his ‘Big Apple’ adventures.

Seinfeld achieved this magnanimous feat after renewed licenses of his popular sitcom increased his wealth to a reported $820 million. Since the show ended in 1998, re-runs have reportedly generated a staggering $3.1 billion in revenue.

The show starred Seinfeld as himself, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards making up his entourage. The iconic series followed the everyday life of the stand-up comedian and his friends in New York City, tackling every curveball life threw at them.

The hit comedy series pioneered by ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ creator Larry David in collaboration with Jerry Seinfeld became a phenomenon for nine seasons between 1989 and 1998, and has since been in syndication.

The off-beat, witty comedy with some hilarious performances by Seinfeld and his friends especially ‘Kramer’ are still loved by audiences today. Some of the best scenes were filmed at their usual hangout – the fictional ‘Monk’s Diner’.

More revenue is expected once deals with streaming giant Netflix and Apple’s iTunes Store are completed. The next ‘super-rich’ stars of the world include Bollywood actor Shahrukh ‘King’ Khan whose 50 films have reportedly earned him $600 million, followed by Hollywood sensation Tom Cruise.
