Among the best comedians in the Hindi film industry, ‘Hera Pheri’ star Paresh Rawal showered Pakistani television with praise saying that when it comes to dramas and serials, India is far, far behind.

The veteran Bollywood talent (and sometimes politician) confessed to gorging on Pakistani dramas and said that when it comes to quality, even Hollywood doesn’t quite rank up there with Pakistani TV.

Speaking to Ahmedabad Times Rawal was quoted saying, “Forget Hollywood, we cannot even compare our films to Pakistani shows. They are far more superior to what we produce here. We need to make some more smart films where we don’t take our audience for granted and think that they will not understand what we want to convey. And this is what attracted me to Raja Natwarlal. Con films genre is one genre that hasn’t been explored much and there is a lot of scope in this genre.”

Rawal is one of India’s most recognized and respected actors having appeared in well over 100 films. He rose to prominence for his remarkable performances in blockbuster hits like: ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Chachi 420’.

The versatile talent was recently in Ahmedabad promoting his upcoming film ‘Raja Natwarlal’ alongside co-stars Emraan Hashmi and Humaima Malick. Opening this week, the Kunal Deshmukh-directed crime film is expected to join the ‘100 Crore Club’.

The film will also mark the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Humaima Malick, who has reportedly signed a three-film deal with famous Indian director Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
