Hollywood icon George Clooney’s engagement to British-Lebanese attorney Amal Alamuddin has made quite a splash in the entertainment world. The two-time Oscar winner will marry his sweetheart later this month.

According to Us Weekly, the wedding costs will be borne by his future in-laws, a source said in the latest issue of the pop culture magazine, “Crazy enough, her family is paying for most of it”. Even though Clooney is worth $180 million, Mama and Papa Alamuddin will still foot the bill!

The hotly-anticipated wedding will be held in one of the romance capitals of the world – Venice. On the 27th of September the couple will host a casual dinner for 60 ‘genuine’ friends and family at the Hotel Cyprian, where suites start at $1490 per night. The next morning, the pair plan on donning their wedding attire and heading over to the Aman Canal Grande Venice Hotel to tie the knot at 11am.

Amal was apparently spotted at the Alexander McQueen office, the fashion house that created Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. The UK-based lawyer spent an hour and a half at the firm’s headquarters in Clerkenwell, East London, along with her mother.

Last week Giorgio Armani announced during Milan Fashion Week that he’s dressing the 53-year-old star for his late September nuptials. “George has chosen and been fitted for an Armani suit for his wedding,” the Italian fashion guru said according to People magazine. Clooney has also enlisted his close friend Walter Veltroni – an Italian writer and former mayor of Rome – as the officiate to preside over the ceremony.

Alamuddin’s parents Ramzi and Baria reportedly scheduled the wedding date and an inside source told Us Weekly that they are “old-fashioned when it comes to these things”. Mrs. Alamuddin works as an editor for the Lebanese newspaper Al Hayat and has experience interviewing global personalities including former US President Bill Clinton and ex British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Her husband is now retired from his teaching position at the American University in Beirut.

Clooney recently starred in the Oscar-winning film ‘Gravity’. One of his first major roles was in an episode of the ‘80s cult-classic ‘Street Hawk’. The former ‘ER’ and ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star announced his love for his gorgeous fiancé while receiving an award in Florence, Italy saying “I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much. And I can’t wait to be your husband.”
