Racecar fans and action junkies alike, can buckle-up as the hyper successful ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise gets ready to make its return to the big screen. According to Deadline ‘Furious 7’, the latest installment in the supercharged crime-thriller series will be making its highly-awaited debut on April 3, 2015.

Returning series favorites include: Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Elsa Pataky, and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges. ‘Furious 7’ will also see the return of Lucas Black, popularly referred to as ‘that loser from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.’

Joining the all-star cast will be newcomers: Iggy Azalea, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa and Jason Statham who is slated to play the role of Ian Shaw, the film’s primary antagonist. The adrenaline-fueled follow-up is one of the most hotly-anticipated films of 2015, largely in-part to it being Paul Walker’s last film. Walker passed away earlier this year in a tragic car crash.

While speaking about his passing, Dwayne Johnson was quoted in The Hollywood Reporter saying, “He was a beautiful man, and in that crazy world, that’s really something.” It has since been reported that Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody provided the voiceover work for his on-screen character Brian O’Conner.

The franchise has grossed over $2.3 billion at the box office and the next installment is sure to be a massive success. Statham was last seen in a cameo appearance in ‘Furious 6’ and after his role in ‘The Transporter’ films, is sure to be a good fit.

Director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan had reportedly ‘tweaked’ the script and by using scenes originally filmed by Walker were able to give him ‘a proper send-off.’ According to Screenrant, he could possibly be seen riding off into the sunset with his wife and child, while Dominic Toretto and the crew continue on their adventures.
