Since the release of ‘Interstellar’ we’ve all been waiting with baited breath to see what zany new project superstar director Christopher Nolan will take on next… Well if the latest reports are to be believed, Japanese anime fans better hold on to their horses because according to Screen Crush, the mad genius behind blockbusters ‘Memento’ and ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy has reportedly signed-on to produce a remake of ‘Akira’. The 1988 cult sci-fi anime is expected to be rebooted as a live-action trilogy. ‘Akira’ fans have long-been cynical of a remake since Warner Bros. acquired the rights back in 2002. And true to Nolan-style the upcoming film is shrouded in mystery, with the director yet to be announced. This has left many to speculate that the man behind ‘Inception’ may himself helm the project. Another Nolan-trilogy? Erm, Hell Yeah!!
