‘Entourage’ Executive Producer Mark Wahlberg is taking the property to the big-screen next year, in what is perhaps one of the most hotly-anticipated films of 2015. Reports suggest Wahlberg has made it his ‘personal mission’ to take the blockbuster HBO series to the next level.
The hit television show followed the life of film star Vincent (Vinnie) Chase, immortalized on-screen by pretty boy Adrian Grenier, and his ‘entourage’ comprising of childhood friends Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) and ‘E’ (Kevin Connolly), and his brother Johnny (Kevin Dillon). The film is expected to follow the adventures of the styling and profiling Hollywood bad boys from where the series left-off.
Debi Mazar and Jeremy Piven will reprise their roles as publicist Shauna Roberts and talent rep. Ari Gold. Gold’s performance as the hot-headed, foul-mouthed super-agent Ari Gold won him a Golden Globe as well as several Primetime Emmy’s.
If reports are to be believed, versatile talent Billy Bob Thornton will also feature, alongside former child-star Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) in a father-son role. Just like the award-winning show featured cameos of real-life actors, the film is expected to be no different with Liam Neeson (Taken), Piers Morgan (America’s Got Talent) and sizzling model Emily Ratajkowski all expected to make appearances.
Series creator Doug Ellin is in the director’s chair for this one. And with the boys soon to be back in town… June 2015 can’t come soon enough!
