The next time iconic super-spy James Bond gets suited and booted for action, he will be taking on an altogether new kind of baddie. According to Deadline, award-winning actor Christoph Waltz is all-set to take on 007 when the yet-untitled film hits the silver screen in 2015.

Waltz dazzled audiences with his Oscar-winning performances in Quentin Tarantino’s blockbusters ‘Inglourious Basterds’ and ‘Django Unchained’. He will be starring opposite leading man Daniel Craig, who is slated to reprise his role as the suave sophisticated 00 agent. In 2012’s ‘Skyfall’, we saw Oscar-winner Javier Bardem play ‘Silva’ — Bonds toughest adversary yet.

Other reported cast members include former WWE wrestling champion and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Dave Bautista, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes stepping in for Dame Judi Dench. Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in ’12 Years a Slave’, is also reportedly attached to the project. Rumors have it Spanish bombshell Penelope Cruz will play the next Bond-girl. Former Bond girl Hall of Famers include: Eva Green, Denise Richards, Ursula Andress and Halle Berry.

Sam Mendes returns to the Director’s chair for the hotly-anticipated sequel which is expected to pick up where ‘Skyfall’ left off. According to Producer Gregg Wilson, ‘Interstellar’ director Christopher Nolan was the “dream choice” to helm the project in the event Mendes chose not to return. However, Mendes’ return has since spoiled any chances of that happening… Thanks a lot Sam!

‘Bond 24’ and its follow-up ‘Bond 25’ will be connected in terms of plot and will not be based on any of the original novels penned by James Bond creator Ian Fleming. According to IMDb, details of the plot are ‘top secret’ and only known by Daniel Craig, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

According to Digital Trends, ‘Bond 24’ is expected to start filming next month.
