Christian Bale is the only actor to have donned the role of the Dark Knight thrice, with all three appearances turning out to be major blockbuster hits at the Box Office. Despite ruling out more adventures as the caped crusader after his last portrayal in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, it seems Bale was itching to strike fear in the hearts of his enemies once again.

While speaking to Empire magazine, the Welsh talent talked about his jealousy towards new Batman-to-be Ben Affleck. “I’ve got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, ‘Oh go on… Let’s do another. So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour,” he says.

But it looks like its too late for Bale as Bat-Fleck turns up the heat for his hotly-anticipated performance in ‘Batman vs. Superman: The Dawn of Justice’. Affleck’s Batman is a product of director Zack Snyder’s vision based on the ultimate universe he created in ‘Man of Steel’ — Warner’s reboot of the Superman saga.

Affleck is set to star alongside Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, as well as other members of the Justice League including Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. The film is expected to lay the foundation for a full-fledged ‘Justice League’ movie in the vein of Marvel’s ‘Avengers’.

It is slated for release March 25th, 2016.
