Will 2015 be the year of the PlayStation 4? ‘The Order 1886’, the first of many PS4 exclusives to be released this year debuted to average reviews, but managed to do well otherwise. According to Gamespot, it became the number one selling game on the UK charts.
And in just a few short weeks another PS4 exclusive is set to hit the shelves. From Software’s ‘Bloodborne’ looks like it’s going to be an excellent third-person action title.
Gamespot quoted Yasuhiro Kitao, Sony Computer Entertainment Asia PR Manager saying, “Just like in Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne will feature many boss enemies of all shapes and sizes, and there will be a variety of ways to defeat them, so I think you will find that the gameplay in Bloodborne is rich and diverse.” The title promises everything action fans enjoy from a variety of bosses, hordes of enemies, and a very compelling storyline in a dark and distant world.
If the title goes on to become a blockbuster success (as predicted), then there won’t be any denying that the PS4 will be crowned the console of choice for another straight year. 2014 saw the PS4 outsell its rivals the Xbox One and Nintendo Wii U. According to VGChartz, the PS4 has recorded 19.4 million units sold, followed by the Xbox One with 11.1 million and Wii U with 9.4 million.
More exclusives are set to come out on the PS4 in the form of ‘Street Fighter V’ and ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’.
In the PS4’s first year, its dominance in the console war was signified by a dependence on third-party hits. Only a few exclusives including ‘inFamous: Second Son’, ‘The Last of Us Remastered’ and ‘Killzone Shadowfall’ were strong titles amongst a host of third-party multi-platform games.
When you buy a console you want to be sure you get the best experience on multi-platform franchises and a selection of quality exclusives. Sony is set to prove that yet again as the PS4 looks to cement its place as console of choice for a second-year running.
