Just like you update your wardrobe when winter knocks at your door, your grooming regimen needs to be updated too! Doffing your face in summer may seem like a no-brainer, but believe us when we tell you that your skin demands intense cleansing all year-round.
Exfoliation is the best way to rid yourself of dead skin cells and give your skin that ‘afterglow’. In winter months though, there’s a catch — Since exfoliation involves scrubbing strips away the protective layer of your skin, you will need to reduce scrubbing to just once or twice a-week. Why? Because the skin’s moisture levels are already low during winter months.
So how does one go about it? First, massage the scrub in sweeping, circular motions. Concentrate on a certain part of the face before moving on to the next (as opposed to sporadically scrubbing all over the place). Be sure to keep away from the eyes and lips as the surrounding skin is too fragile. Remember, make sure you’re gentle throughout the entire process as rigorous doffing can lead to irritation and burns.
