BMW is set to expand its offering of ultimate driving machines with the all-new M4 GTS. The German automotive giant recently unveiled the M4 GTS, announcing plans to produce 700 special limited editions, as a tribute to the M3’s remarkable 30 years in production.
The GTS is fitted with BMW’s original water injection technology, which within seconds increases output to in excess of 500 hp. A standard M4 produces a ‘meagre’ 425 ponies. Powered by a 3-liter twin turbocharged straight-six engine, the GTS M4 is a work of art… This mean machine shoots from 0 to 52mph in a lightning fast 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph. In comparison, the M4 GTS shares the No. 26 spot of the Nürburgring Top 100 list with the Ferrari 458 Italia.
The vehicle’s celerity is heightened by the lightweight materials used in production. The center console, rear seat paneling, boot partition area, doors and even side panels were all designed in an effective, weight-reducing manner using materials like carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic.
With production limited to just 700 units, BMW has been highlighting M technology innovations for vehicular design. Staying true to its brand motto, the company has confirmed the M4 GTS is going into production, and will be available in the Spring of 2016.
Oh yeah, the price… $190,000.
