Sandra Bullock, who just celebrated her 50th birthday last month, topped the list of Forbes Highest-Paid Actresses of 2014. With an estimated earning of $51 million between June 2013 and July 2014, Bullocks accomplishment was largely attributed to the Box Office success of her film ‘Gravity’.

‘Gravity’ was a sci-fi thriller that released in 2013 and raked-in a staggering $716 million at the Box Office; Bullock played the lead role of an astronaut floating through outer space, starring opposite silver fox George Clooney. The blockbuster hit also managed to earn 10 Oscar nominations taking home seven of them. Though Bullock didn’t take home an Oscar, she did win the prestigious ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ award at the 2014 BAFTAs. Besides ‘Gravity’, Bullock’s other feature, buddy-cop flick ‘The Heat’ was also a smash hit earning nearly $230 million worldwide.

Second on the list is 23-year-old talent Jennifer Lawrence, the star of hits ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and ‘The Hunger Games’. Lawrence earned an impressive $34 million over the same time period. Hot-on-her-heels are ‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston with $31 million, Gwyneth Paltrow with $19 million, and Angelina Jolie with a respectable $18 million.

It’s no coincidence Bullock was bound for glory… In 2012 the Guinness Book of World Records listed her as the highest paid actress at the time, with reported earnings of $56 million between June 2009 and June 2010. After the breakdown of her marriage to Jesse James, she took some time off from acting but later bounced back with record setting numbers and Box Office smash hits!
