After his stellar performance in yesterday’s crucial T20 face off between India and Pakistan, it’s no wonder Virat Kohli was once rated the second most marketable athlete in the world.
Though the 27-year-old ace batsman still lags behind his captain MS Dhoni in overall endorsements, his MRF bat deal is second to none! According to the Times of India, Kohli charges INRs 8 crore from MRF while Dhoni gets INRs 6 crore from rivals Spartan. Kohli also gets paid an additional INRs 2 crore for endorsing apparel and shoes on the pitch.
West Indies Master Storm Chris Gayle, who like Dhoni endorses Spartan, is paid around INRs 3 crores for his bat deal while South African AB de Villiers gets around INRs 3.5 crore.
Off the field however, it’s still Dhoni’s world. The limited overs skipper charges close to INRs 8 crore for endorsement deals while Kohli charges a mere 5 crore.
