Global hotel chain Marriott International has partnered with Studio 54 co-founder and boutique hotelier Ian Schrager for the ‘Edition Hotels’. After the opening of the super-successful chain in Istanbul, Turkey and Honolulu, Hawaii a collaborative effort between the two mega-brands presents us with ‘The London Edition’.
‘The London Edition’ boasts 173 guest rooms and suites as well as a plush penthouse on a lavish 2000 square feet, with custom fittings and panoramic views of the city. Situated in the landmark Fitzrovia building in the heart of London, ‘The London Edition’ saw Ian Schrager and his design team collaborate with the Yabu Pushelberg design studio to provide a lodging experience aimed at the ‘panache traveler’.
A fusion between traditional architecture and contemporary design, the interior of ‘The London Edition’ celebrates minimalism in all its modern manifestations. The hotel’s restaurant is adorned with art pieces by renowned artist Johannes Vermeer and the design of the hotel bar is inspired by American contemporary artist Christian Liaigre.
The only real problem is, in a hotel this nice… you may never want to leave.
