If there’s one thing the endless showering of pricey gifts proves it’s that Kanye West is enamoured with fiancée Kim Kardashian. Known for being a fan of all things big, bold and beautiful, Kim accepted Kanye’s proposal for marriage with a $1.6 million, 15-carat engagement ring. But that’s not all the showering Kanye had in mind…

In addition to the flawless D-stone, type 2A cushion cut diamond West has reportedly commissioned Andy Warhol’s cousin Monica Warhol to paint a portrait of his beloved wife-to-be. According to the latest reports, the rapper paid Warhol upwards of $30,000 to produce the piece after claiming Kim is the modern-day Marilyn Monroe.

Monica Warhol is an artist who lives and works in Tucson, Arizona, and has painted portraits of other celebrities including rapper Flo Rida. A mother of six she reportedly never even met Andy, once regarded as the Prince of Pop, who died in 1987 when she was just 10 years old.

But just as Andy did, Monica too produces silk-screen works from photographs. “I never studied Andy. I never owned a book about him until about a year ago,” she said. The mimicking of his style is not conscious. She says she loves screen-printing because it’s “extremely physical.” Unlike Andy, who delegated labor to a bunch of hired hands, Monica does all the work herself.

Warhol was quoted saying of Kardashian, “She’s an icon. She’s famous for nothing. Andy would have loved her. Kim is beautiful. She’s so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie.”

Fortunately, it appears as though the giving is not all “one-way”. For Kanye’s 35th birthday, Kim reportedly bought him a $750,000 limited edition Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. And with the couple’s $11 million dream house still under construction, we have a feeling their shopping spree isn’t going to stop there…
